December 2 Writing.

December 2 – Writing
What do you do each day that doesn’t contribute to your writing — and can you eliminate it?
(Author: Leo Babauta)

**Note: I started this back in December and of course didn't finish...I started this with a purpose in mind and I'm gonna go ahead and work through the exercises for me.

So, to answer the prompt for day 2...
Things I do each day that do not contribute to my writing/blogging:
1. work
2. veg in front of the computer on facebook
3. do create projects
4. veg in front of the television

I have to work so that cannot be eliminated. I want/desire to create...and create more in 2011...so that cannot be eliminated. The time spent vegging in front of the computer on facebook and in front of the television is what I desire to eliminate.

December 1 One Word.

Encapsulate the year 2010 in one word. Explain why you’re choosing that word. Now, imagine it’s one year from today, what would you like the word to be that captures 2011 for you?

No really. It took me a while to think about this past year. What we accomplished as a family, as a couple and as an individual--to me it was inspiring--especially if you include the synonym meanings as well--charged, hair-raising, mind-blowing, thrilling, heart-stoping, breathtaking, exciting, stirring, stimulating...all of it speaks to how 2010 has been.
I'm not going to kid you, it's been difficult at times, stressful alot, complicated and at times just plain the pits. BUT...the opportunities we've had, the growth we've made, the people we've become this year I'm proud of and to me 2010 was inspiring. There were things I was not sure we'd make it through and we did, there were amazing opportunities for our children and ourselves and we took the leap and landed on the other side better for it. Some may say I'm too "Glass half-full" but I know I would not have done anything differently than we did this year. It's been an inspiring year.

Now...for 2011...I think I need this year to be a year that many of my personal goals are met--in health, in creativity, in sanity-HA! Over the next 31 days I'll hold on to the word complete...I think that is the word that I wish to reign in 2011--projects around the house become complete, personal goals for myself complete and the decluttering that was begun in 2010 complete...
